Cutting carbs doesn’t have to be dreadful…instead of potatoes…

Making radical changes might work for a little while, but if you can’t stick with a change for 5 years, it’s not worth it.

Here are some easy things, that I sometimes do, that cut calories dramatically, without sacrificing taste or nutritional value….and sometimes the kids can’t even tell.

Instead of mashed potatoes, try mashed cauliflower. Texture is very similar, way less starch, and a low-calorie alternative.

Instead of rice, try cutting cauliflower into small pieces, microwave for a minute or so. It has a similar texture to rice, and again, cuts calories dramatically.

Instead of pasta – baked spaghetti squash

Instead of tortilla wraps – use romaine lettuce leaves! Makes a great tuna or chicken wrap!

Do you have any great alternatives? Please share, always looking!
